Guys!

I think the moderators should post a sticky in the offtopic forum that no talk about warez/games and related stuff r allowed. We dun want any unnecessary copyright attention especially now that we r having that suitcase (or is it a suecase?)

No talk about this stuff should be allowed, theres plenty of other places you can do that.

Everyone knows that ed2k is a source of that material, its no secret. Unless there are grounds for litigation based on those open references, should it be considered such a big deal? I say yes.

The fact that its against the rules should be enough for everyone to respect them, but clearly it is not. Filenexus got shut down and they were sharing no copyrighted material, do you want this to happen to the Mule too? You don't have to be convicted to get shut down, just run out of resources. Ask questions, yes, but make no references to specific material if it's copyrighted.

As one of the people involved in a couple of threads mentioning warez, I am going to comment.

If Shrtirlits had bothered to check (do a google search for all mentioned warez, or clicked on some of the links), they would know that all the ones mentioned are legally downloadable from the sites of the manufacturers as trial versions and full versions. These include codecs, different forms of players, burning software, archiving software, some of these are even in the sticky in that forum, and I believe only admins can make a post a sticky. There is no mention of copyrighted material in the sense of this forums rules.

If someone posts about copyrighted material in the sense of the forum rules they are asked, like in the other sections, to remove them by those of us who post in there.

The offtopic and whiners forum is "for discussions besides eMule & P2P, but no chit-chat!" and so what is discussed there is in the correct section and therefore is allowed.

My little rant over with.

Sorry, I think I didn't thought much about it yesterday.

I didn't associated it with that kind of software, more with "famous" threads like "My game does not run. I think I must crack it, but how??" or "help me mod my PS2". So I assumed it's in the forum rules and pointed that way, without thinking much about recent threads.

I mean that in the light of the recent events, the warez policy must be made more strict, so this site is ONLY about eMule or getting it to work, and nothing about WHAT u have DLed or HOW to get it to work must be allowed. Theres plenty of other places u can get help on that kind of stuff.

Again the offtopic section was made to keep none e-mule related stuff out of those sections. It states what it is for and it was set up that way.

The support and hardware sections are for that kind of help.

The rules already state that the mentioning of copyrighted material, ie, I have downloaded "title" game and it won't work, will be delt with. The mentioning of warez is allowed, as is the mentioning of file types.

Legally downloadable warez are not going to get this forum in trouble, infact it increases the trafic for the suppliers mentioned and could also increase their business, therefore they benefit from it. One of the warez I mentioned, I tried and then bought as I liked it and found it easy to use.

To be pedantic here. As this section is for the discussion of e-mule, file sharing and p2p only, this thread should be in the offtopic section as it does not belong here as it is about this forum. If you want some rules to be made more strict you should at least follow those that are already exist.
