Is there any RSS feed for the updates of the IPFilter?

Even if not, there is great firefox add-on Update Scanner.
It monitors given list of web pages for changes,
each with dedicated sensitivity and frequency.

BTW, only 3-4 servers from all ones from server-met.de pass th IPfilter list.
Is it normal ?

Well intended bad ideas should be rejected in a kind way.
Discussing your ideas means they are, or at least could be good, so it is positive event. :)
Non-english speaker easily misses the target when reading/searching before asking....

@ poutnik
Thanks. It's surely a great addon. I'd try it, but I don't like Firefox (Opera fan) and the reason of my question was to know when the IPFilter is updated so I can update it in my eMule as soon as posible.

@ All
It would be a good idea to use a free blog (Wordpress and Blogger are the most popular) to release your updates of the IPFilter so we can suscribe to the RSS feed and receive the updates of the IPFilter in our favorite feed reader when they are released... Even a Twitter account could be useful for this purpose.

Sorry for my awful english.

Until better solution, you can also monitor IPfilter page http://www.hostex.de/emule/ipfilter
by web monitoring service, e.g. by http://www.watchthatpage.com
Free account is still very valueable and intelligent.
BTW, I like Opera too, but so do I like FF addons. :)

Thanks :), updating the mirrors now.

/edit: Wolph(he made the mirror script) is rewriting some code to comply with sf.net changes, this should allow for a much faster downloads and less problems(it selects the mirrors based on origin ip/country).

The principal one:
v132
You can set a level of filtered (default: 127)
Ozzy.311208
it has not filtered level (all ip ranges are filtered)

Others:
Ozzy.311208 hasn´t got a Changelog for what we cannot know more on this version

From the Stulle's explanation ;

Quote

New IPFilter:

* The original IPFilter maintained via the Pawcio mirror becomes update fewer and fewer so I decided to change the provider to another, hopefully more reliable, source.
* Henceforth will the default IPFilter be maintained by Ozzy and indipendently distributed via the ScarAngel project site on Sourceforge.
* New versions will be checked via a dyndns service quite alike the version check.
* To reduce the overall traffic when updating I decided to use WinRAR compression so the unrar.dll from the binary package is required!
* The new IPFilter will not interfere with other mirrors as it only uses the new methods when the default mirror is chosen.

Wait, so is this still compatible with the official client's URL updating mechanism?

Afaik .rar is not compatible with the vanilla emule(only .zip/.dat), that's why i always include multiple type formats(no need to save bandwith because of unlimited sf mirrors :) )

Is there a limiit to the number of ipfilters the official eMule can handle? Can any of the MOD eMules handle a larger number of ipfilters??? Has anyone ever gotten Blocklist Manager to work with eMule, or is there a problem there??? Thanx for the list!!!

IMHO

To improve the development of the ipfilter would be grateful if some user can confirm or show that IP's range has been more times blocked by ipfilter v132.
This information can consult: Tools> IP Filter...

Today I´ve updated the IP-Filter

at the first restart from emule the log showed this entry 258537 IP-Filter geladen

but at the second reststart from emule the log showed this entry 258504 IP-Filter geladen

Is that ok, or is someting wrong?

The same doubt arose in the corresponding Spanish thread.

It´s not an any problem, is usual when some ip ranges coincide, only that it differes for the filtered level correspondent.
Look the Changelog & you´ll see the mention to your question:
